SEO Tips For New Websites

It is sometimes mistaken that S.E.O is very difficult particularly among the more recent Webmasters. If you've been following the news from the search engines like Google, you will notice that the there are tons of stories and updates every now and then. Being a search website Optimizer for several years, I'll say that SEO isn't really that hard if you follow some methodical steps. You'll learn the first three critical setps in this post.

First, you should ensure that you register an applicable site name. Site name containing keywords get a lot of boosting from search websites such as Google and Yahoo. If you're in the stained glass floor lamp industry, registerng something like StainedGlassFloorLamp.net would be highly relevant for search engine optimisation. If possible, try avoiding using dashes in the domain names. On the other hand, you may also want to avoid using web site names with too many dashes in between too. This can make the web site name appearing lazy.

2nd, you need to write a good and unique page title for your home page. The title should not be too long, around five to 7 words is the most satisfactory length. You also must ensure that the page titles aren't the same throughout the site as this can confuse the search websites about the content on each page. As much as humanly possible, create a unique page title for each page in your website.

Third, you would also have to attract incoming links to link to your website. The commonest way to do so is by submitting to web directories. Two directories that you have to use are the DMOZ and the Yahoo Business catalog. Next, you can write some articles about your expertise and submit them to the article directory websites wordwide. These articles will be able to generate you hyperlinks ( if you created the writer profile and implant your website url ).

You can see a fine example of highly optimized site over at Irwin's Study, which is a tuition center that concentrate on physics tuition in Singapore. All pages in the site are unique and bears a unique title as well . Another blog that's highly optimized is from an Independent Financial Advisor from Singapore, you can find his blog over at KairosAdvisor.com. This blog is ran by the veteran finance Advisor called Stephen Mok. Until date, you'll be able to find a lot of websites linking to him based on the content he has been sharing so far.

I'm hoping that the above tips wil be helpful for you especially marketing your website.
