The mild dose of the drug contains 46 mg of topiramate and 7.5 mg of phentermine. Meanwhile, the low dosage formulation contains 23 mg of topiramate and 3.75 mg of phentermine.
The most common Qnexa side effects reported are dry mouth, hard stools, itchiness and altered tastes. Some patients reported to have experienced mild depression and mood swing. Based on phase 2 and phase 3 clinical trials, these common side effects are expected and manageable. The studies also show that the drug has an auspicious benefit/risk safety profile.
